Hundred of Muloowurtie

James Well & Rogues Point are located in the Hundred of Muloowurtie. Other nearby townships within the Hundred of Muloowurtie are Billy Goat Flat, Pine Point, Black Point and Sandilands.

The Hundred of Muloowurtie was proclaimed on 31 December 1874 and contains an area of 107 square miles (68,680 acres). "Bounded on the west by the east boundary of the Hundred of Wauraltee; on the north by the south boundaries of the Hundreds of Maitland and Cunningham; on the south by the north boundary of the Hundred of Curramulka and on the east by the sea coast.'

The name Muloowurtie is a native word meaning "native rat hole' or 'rat burrow'.
