All residents are invited to join the Association and we welcome your support.

The Association works hard to ensure that the district is maintained and kept orderly by cutting grass, tree trimming, beach care and a security watch on premises.

We have established and maintained many aspects of the area including the:

  • Building of the community centre;

  • Historic windmill and tank restoration;

  • Shelter shed at the boat ramp.

 The Association Centre has grown over the years to enable locals and visitors to come together to share a meal and a quiet drink.  The Centre is open to everyone on a Friday evening.  We welcome visitors to come down and get to know the locals and enjoy some great company.

 One of the many improvements to the Centre, a pergola and paved area to cater for the larger functions and wonderful place to sit during the warmer weather.

 The aim is to continue with improvements and developments whilst maintaining the friendly village atmosphere we all enjoy.

The community centre is available for hire by members having private functions etc. This community building is the social centre of the district and plays host to a variety of functions including Quiz Night, Crab Jazz & Shiraz and Friday night meals.

The Association is self-funded but we reply upon the continued support of our members together with small local government grants.

Other areas of revenue are from used bottles and cans that can be left at the bottle collection bins situated at the community centre on James Well Road.  Locals and visitors are encouraged to bring their recyclable empty bottles and cans.

During peak holiday times, we have many visitors, and if these visitors are unable to bring the bottles and cans to the centre, a group of dedicated locals are happy to drive around and collect them. We ask that they are left boxed if possible in a convenient place (e.g. next to bins) to enable them to be picked up.

James Well Rogues Point Progress Association as it's own Flag, designed by Locals.  There are not many areas who have their own flag, and therefore to be one of the first would be fantastic and fill our community with pride.

A design was finally agreed upon. The colours represent the sand, ocean and sky, with the windmill representing the James Well icon and a crab a feature of the whole area.

It was a proud moment for many of the community who were there to witness Ian and Esma Storry raise the official first flying of the flag for the area at the James Well Rogues Point Progress Association Centre, on Wednesday 1st January 2013.

Most people then stayed for a sausage sizzle to cap off the day. The community is a strong one, 30 flags were purchased on the day, with many going home to raise their flags in a display of pride
for our area. Our thanks go to those involved in organising our flag.

The Association communicates its information via a quarterly newsletter and addresses all aspects of the community news and allows for sponsorship advertising. There are also two community noticeboards, one is located at the centre and the other at Rogues Point Road.

We look forward to you enjoying your time in the area and appreciate any assistance that you may wish to offer or ideas on progressing improvements in the future.

Membership fees are set by members at the Annual General Meeting in the first week of October. At the A.G.M. we call for the positions to be filled and all are welcome to participate. New people ensure new ideas are being introduced each year.
